Logo LAE   Research and application - acoustics and audio

LAE is an experimentation laboratory and an advanced acoustical research centre, employing high quality equipment. The supply of resources (instruments, transductors, laboratory facilities, software, etc.) and advanced knowledge is possible thanks to the union of three supporter companies and the convention with the University  of Parma, which guarantee a strong academic background.  This joint venture permits LAE to guarantee absolute flexibility for all kind of advanced electroacoustical experimentation, with solid theoretical background, in many domain, such as room acoustics, sound systems, sound design, sound creation, music.

The "Sound's Home", new exhibition and research lab in Parma, Italy resulting from a joint research project of Comune di Parma, Università di Parma and CNIT:The Casa del Suono (Sound's Home) is located inside a 4-century-old building, formerly known as the S.Elisabetta Church, in Parma, ITALY. The building was abandoned since decades, and it has been completely restored and renewed by Comune di Parma.

121 AES Convention: Surface Scattering Uniformity Measurements in Reflection-Free Environments.Lorenzo Rizzi, LAE; Angelo Farina, Università di Parma; Paolo Galaverna, Genesis Acoustic Workshop; Paolo Martignon, Lorenzo Conti, Andrea Rosati, LAE. Following previous investigations, carried out at the University of Parma in 1999 and 2000, LAE (Laboratory of Acoustics and Electroacoustics) started a new measurement campaign to compare with the original results on the same type of diffusor panels, to verify AES-4id-2001 measurement standard, and to investigate the nature of scattering phenomena in more detail.

121 AES Convention: Investigation of hearing loss influence on music perception, in auditoria, by means of stereo dipole reproduction.
